Drill Collar Elevator General Drill collar elevator is designed and manufactured in line with API Spec 8C ¡°Specification for Drilling and Production Hoisting Equipment¡±, and drill collar elevator can be available with center latch models and side door models. Center latch models is modeled TA elevator, while side door models is modeled SLX elevator. SLX drill collar elevator SLX drill collar elevators are conventional collar type side door elevators for handling drill collar in drilling operation, SLX drill collar elevators are cast from high quality alloy steel, heat-treated, and NDT tested. The rated load is 150t(1350kN), and drill collar sizes from 3" to 11¼" OD, each drill collar elevator is 1.5 times of the working load tested. SLX drill collar elevator is constructed in two halves, the two halves are jointed together by hinge pin in such a way to give it a side door construction feature along with a proper balance, one end of both the haves are hinged to each other and the other ends has a latching mechanism with a safety lock. Drill collar elevators are equipped with easy and safe operating handles at the front, link ears conform to API elevator links, SLX drill collar elevators bear API monogram as per API requirements, and marked with size of drill collar and rated working capacity. each drill collar elevator is provided grease nipples for lubrication of the movable pins, API monogram in conjunction with numbers, product series numbers are hard die stamped on shoulders of drill collar elevators for tracing, and drill collar elevators shoulders are die stamped with size of drill collar and rated working capacity. TA drill collar elevator TA drill collar elevators are conventional collar type center latch elevators for handling drill collar in drilling operation, TA drill collar elevators are cast from high quality alloy steel, heat-treated for toughness to take jarring effect of joints, NDT and MPI. The rated loads are 150ton and 250ton, and cover drill collars sizes from 4⅛" to 11" OD, each drill collar elevator is 1.5 times of the working load tested. TA drill collar elevators are constructed in two halves of practically the same weight for better balance and easier operation, and have a latch mechanism with latch and lock combination for the two halves, link ears conform to API elevator links, handles are at rear and can be properly balanced while operating, API monogram in conjunction with numbers, product series numbers are die stamped on shoulders of drill collar elevators for tracing, and drill collar elevators shoulders are hard die stamped with size of drill collar and rated working capacity. Drill collar elevators can be for drill collar with or without zip lift recess, when order drill collar elevators, customer shall specify if the drill collars have zip lift recess or not.
